The Pearl Lake State Park History page was redesigned in July of 2024 to better highlight the history of Pearl Lake, introduce the Pearl Lake Gift Shop, and make the blogs about current events. Those current events are mainly my travel blogs from the current day. Please take a moment to subscribe on the Pearl Lake History Home Page! Then follow to steps below to subscribe.

It is a strange thing when technology shifts. I spent a lot of years hiking and taking photos of the Pearl Lake area, but blogs and social media really didn’t exist. So, I just posted my beautiful Kodachrome photos without words. Now, I wish I could remember more specifics about the day and what happened.

My travel blog is called Traveling Grandma and Her Pup Crew. I will be sharing a link to any posts I do about the Pearl Lake area in a blog post here with a synopsis that is more relevant to the history.

Additionally, I take an annual trip through the Southwest US. This is a tradition I started 5 years ago on Spring Break. I also camp every other weekend all summer (started last year). So be sure to follow the travel blog if you want to see some great sites other than Pearl Lake State Park!

Meet My Travel Companions: My Special Needs Rescue Dogs

I started adopting rescue dogs in 2013 because I wanted travel companions. I started with one but grew to three (The Three Amigas I) within a couple of years. Maizzy, Kachina, and Sazi Ana were the Three Amigas I.

When my first dog, Maizzy, passed, the pack changed. I had a rez dog for a bit but he had issues with aggression towards my senior disabled dog, Sazi. I rehomed him (he got a great home) when Sazi died because my passion turned to senior and disabled rescue dogs. That is when I adopted Kokopelli and Cimarron. Now we are the Three Amigas II

I should mention that the income from Art from the Hartt is intended to go towards some of my travel and dog expenses. I am committed to helping them lead their best life!
